Lumberjacks Secure First-Up Win in WFR Knockout Trophy

AThe BC Lumberjacks kicked off their WFR Knockout Trophy campaign with a convincing victory, fueled by a dynamic four-try performance.The Lumberjacks' forward pack laid the foundation for the win, with lock Cade Wilson and flanker Brendan Kim both crossing the line. First five-eighth Josh Ioane spearheaded the backline, securing a personal double with two tries.However, the most intriguing storyline of the match belonged to the kicking tee. In an unconventional move, lock Callum Botchar took over goal-kicking duties for the match."We just wanted to experiment in this pre-season tournament," said Head Coach Scott Stewart. "Callum said he was up for it. I played against the great Aussie lock, John Eales, who kicked goals, so I thought, 'Well, if he can do it, why not?'"The experiment adds an exciting tactical wrinkle for the Lumberjacks as they continue their pre-season preparations.
