Jorgensen Injury Update

AKAROA — Akaroa Whalers back Max Jorgensen is set to miss up to four weeks after suffering a knee injury during a brutal Round 4 clash against the Leeds Tigers.
Whalers head coach Brian Byas had experimented by starting Jorgensen at centre. However, the playmaker was forced off the field after just 22 minutes following a heavy tackle, with Dallas McLeod coming on as the replacement.
"It looked bad during the match," Coach Byas said. "Our doctor assessed him this morning and it appears to be ligament damage. At this point, we hope to have Max back for the final few rounds and we won't be looking to replace him in the squad."
Despite the injury blow, the Whalers are focused on building momentum following their shutout victory over Leeds. They now turn their attention to Round 5, hosting the Durban Sports Club in a highly anticipated Premiership matchup."Make no mistake, we know how tough Durban are going to be," Byas added. "Like us, they sit on two wins and two losses. We need to ensure we build on the victory over Leeds this week in front of our home crowd."
