TOKYO, JAPAN – The Peninsula Pioneers have arrived in Tokyo today ahead of their upcoming clash with the Shoguns this week.Following a successful opening round, Coach Buddha Johnston has made several changes to the squad that won in week one to manage player workload early in the competitive cycle.Tactical adjustments see Alex Harford step in at first-five, while Adam Gaulter starts on the left wing, joining his brother William out wide. Further pack reinforcements include Ethan Burns at lock and Jayden Baxendale at prop.
Coach Johnston emphasized that the extensive changes are part of a broader seasonal strategy rather than a reflection of performance."It is purely rotation," Johnston stated. "It is a long season and we want to keep everyone fresh. Utilising the full depth of our squad is incredibly important in these first few matches to make sure everyone stays healthy and up to speed."
