WFR Challenge Shield
The Challenge Shield is contested whenever the current holder plays a home Premiership league match. A win or draw keeps the Shield with the holder; an away victory transfers it to the challenger, whose next home Premiership league match becomes the next defence.
Historical rule: the Shield honours record is updated only with the club holding the Shield at the end of each WFR season. In-season changes of holder belong in the Defence History.
