STAR Alliance Development Squad Finalised

starAfter the majority of the Alliance Cup champions squad were drafted the main rosters of the STAR Alliance franchises, the WFR XX STAR Alliance have finalised their WFRXX Developmental squad.

Star player-maker Jackson Garden-Bachop who was unlucky to not be drafted to one of the Alliance franchises will again try and control the game from either first five or centre. Former Sherborne Saints fullback Francisco Urroz has been picked to captain the team in their quest win back to back Alliance Cup titles.

“Last year we knew we had to best our rivals Capital Rugby, this year we have to be better than all the developmental squads, we now have a huge bullseye on our back. The developmental team was not the only STAR Alliance squad to have a standout XIX season with all but one STAR Alliance franchise to make the playoffs, with the Santiago Condors able to cause an upset to win the WFRXIX World Club Pennant Final,” commented STAR Alliance CEO Joe Gambit.

“Capital Rugby will be wanting to try get back on top of mountain again, G1RA have stated they see this season as their chance to win the Alliance Cup and I’m sure the others are confident as well with their chances.”

One interesting signing this season for the STAR Alliance developmental squad has a family connection with raw first five Damien MacKenzie joining his older brother Marty MacKenzie in the STAR Alliance ranks. Another interesting signing is that of two Kenyan players with International sevens experience which is seen as a huge coup for the STAR Alliance.
