WFR 2024 – MMXXIV is here – WorldFantasyRugby

The World Fantasy Rugby (WFR) Flag is once again flying !

After a few season’s away WorldFantasyRugby is back , to Celebrate we will be starting fresh with a 16 team Premiership with 3 teams already confirmed.

WFR Foundation Clubs the Wellington Dolphins (NZL) , Peninsula Whalers (NZL) Durban Sports Club (RSA) are joined by the Limpopo Buffaloes (RSA) as the first confirmed teams of our new championship.

The Competition has a Brand New 10,000 player database to choose the squads of 30 players with a salary of ₩30,000,000 WFR Dollars to spend.

Competition will be over a 15 game season with Finals and a Pre Season Knockout trophy. Each Round will have 8 Matches via traditional Test File Commentary with one match of the 8 each week being broadcast as a FULL Video match.

The selection of these teams will be done via the draft system and for the first time all team owners will need to be present to make their selections.

Team Name (Must be a City Name & Team Nickname in which it must be a suitable name such as NRL , NFL Super Rugby type of moniker.

On Acceptance we shall email you a link for Paypal that is $USD10 per month subscription fee to cover our costs.

The Draft Process will be as follows:

Draft List will be sent out with entire 10,000 players viewable on .PDF via (Issuu – Download link will be provide)
Team Draft Positions will be decided by a randomizer where teams will be allocated a number with teams being initially alphabetically sorted.
Once Draft positions have been decided , the team selected to go first will have be given 1 minute to choose their 1st pick in which after the 1 minute has passed they have 1 minute to provide the Player Name & Country Code (IE: Rieko Ioane – NZL 4 -₩9,000,000) after which the player will be then confirmed as that teams draft pick, meaning he is unavailable for further selection.
1. During the Draft Process the team owners will only see details of name , cost, position(s) , and other details but no team will see how the WFR Commission has rated the player all initial ratings are final, but there are ways under WFR Rules to upgrade (Train) players.
Each team will go turn about in draft order to select their picks with Rounds 1 , 2 and 3 having ONE selection each when we reach Round 4 teams will need to have a minimum of 27 players to announce as their selections within the total ₩30,000,000 salary cap available. PLEASE NOTE: Under WFR Rules the full salary is not necessary to spend as any funds available can go to training lower rated (Salary) players.
1. Purchasing Post Draft Training Points !At the start of a season depending on how much you are below the Salary cap after the Season Draft you will be
  awarded 1 training point for each $150,000 that you are under the Salary Cap.You will be able to use these funds to balance your Salary Cap to the Maximum allowed.You cannot Use the Salary Cap Training Points other than at the Start of a season so if you lose the services of a player and replace him with a lower valued player , the only way of training him is by spending the $1,000,000 during season . Again the 150k Training is only available prior your Teams First Game in a new season and you can only train a maximum of 2 Training Points per Player, If you use 2 Training points at this stage your players salary would be increased by 300k or if you use 1pt his salary would increase by 150k.You cannot go over salary cap as set by WFR.

Team Selections: Teams must have a MINIMUM of 20 Players chosen from the country of their teams location. Again IE: New Zealand Based team Must have 20 New Zealand based players with code NZL # — , Australian Based teams = 20 Australian Based teams AUS #– , South African Based teams RSA #– and if a team decides to be based Spain Players with the EUROPE code must also have have not just EUROPE #– but also 20 Spanish Players (ESP#) etc etc.
