G1RA Newsflash

In Berlin 6 Players stepped out and gave way to some new Talent who have all come through the youth ranks. All eyes will be on Kevin Landsberg. The Young lock played int the G1RA development squad the past 2 seasons and considering the practice runs we have seen so far, he might just move straight into Berlins starting XV in their first premiership season.

Narbonne finished their first premiership season as planned and has promoted 7 Players from the youth squad. They will surely miss Yannick Nyanga, who captained the Team the last 2 seasons. A. de Villiers, the Team Coach shrugged off any fear and sees the Young Players as a huge Advantage.

Cape Town has also promoted some prodigious Talent from the development squad, 7 in total. Promising centre Gael Fickou has made the stepp up and he is also looking to make the starting Team. “Gael is a Quality Player and showed his value the past 2 seasons in the development squad. We will give him a shot after loosing both our starting centres for the coming season. It seams as if Gael and Francois Venter will be forming a partnership. We are hoping for them to gel and form a good Team in the midfield and will hopefully be ready for the premiership, if we manage to be promoted.

That would be great if the Cape Town Team could be promoted and if Berlin and Narbonne stay in the league, then all 3 G1RA Teams will fight it out in the big league. This season Round 3 is allready a mouthwatering clash as Berlin and Narbonne will once again fight for the Transatlantic Trophy. The trophy has been in Berlins Hands for 2 seasons and Narbonne will want to break their Berlin bogey.

Captains and vice captains for the coming season are:
Berlin – Alexander Widiker and Tim Kasten
Narbonne – Patrick Schachner and Cesar Damiani
Cape Town – Derek Harwood and Stephen Ferris
