Cardiff Fury WFR XX squad Finalised

cardiffAfter the shock unavailability of experienced lock Craig Clarke, the Cardiff Fury squad is finally set. With the Fury going for promising young lock Patrick Tuipulotu in the Draft, who has been plying his trade it Auckland.

The Cardiff Fury this season has look of rebuilding after a number of retirements from some key areas. Last season’s appointed captain was forced to hang up his boots after a serious elbow and shoulder injury and Irish lock Tom Hayes also had his career cut short after medical advice. David Dal Maso and David Hall at the end of the season decided to hang up there boots, while props Ross Davies, Eifion Lewis-Roberts and Lock Robert Sidoli were not resigned for the WFRXX season.

Called up from the Developmental squad was centre Jack Dixon who captained the developmental team for the last two seasons. Other players brought up were German loose forward Lukas Wende, locks Mario Mayol & Rhodri Hughes, prop Nicky Smith and hooker Scott Otten.

Prop Craig Smith and utility forward Jonathan Mills have both been named as co-captains for the WFRXX season.

“It a shame what happened to Craig and we will keep in contact with him and if you wishes we would be pleased for him to be involved in the Cardiff Fury organization in some way in the future,” stated Fury coach Steve Ritchie. “We are also very pleased in signing Patrick in the draft, he has a bright future here and we hope to finally reach our potential this season.”
