Cardiff Fury player faces uncertain future

cardiffCardiff Fury player Craig Clarke’s career is uncertain after being forced to take indefinite break from rugby on the eve of WFRXX Draft.

Clarke with a history of concussion, took a heavy knock in a head clash with new Fury hooker Scott Otten. After medical advice he has been told to take a indefinite break to be given a chance to be able to continue his career in the future.

It is another set back for the Fury with four players either hanging up the boots or being forced to retire from the game, with that their experience has also been lost. Unfortunately Craig Clarke was going to be announced as co-captain with Scotland prop Craig Smith.

“It a huge loss for the club as after the injury/form slump to last season’s captain Lee Thomas, Craig stepped up and looked very solid and he a proven performer,” stated Fury coach Steve Ritchie. “We have been forced to look to the Draft to get a replacement for Craig we haven’t decided on looking for youth or experience but I guess we’ll favouring youth.”
